Water Offering

Bowls and glasses of water are often used as offerings to the spirits. These waters will often have small additions such as a few drops of alcohol, sometimes Florida water, maybe a few pinches of salt if it is cleaning water and a few pinches of sugar if this water is drawing prosperity. The most important ingredient are prayers and intentions. These waters are left on the altar for the spirits. Some spiritual workers are capable of seeing in these waters, like a crystal ball. Sometimes these waters are added to the bath water as a cleaning water. When the waters are done, they are released outside, sometimes to the roads or by a tree.

Prayer Vigil

My prayer vigils are ritualisitic in nature. Included are offerings. These are done for one day to three days, with the idea of building up a charge around a prayer. Sometimes significant spirits are included, also divination is done to see how the prayers are going. After this short period of time, these prayers are released to nature, the idea being that this starting and stopping of a prayer builds up a charge and you want that charge to be released for results and reflections from the Universe.

Crossroads

Crossroads are symbolic of that place between the worlds. They rule both directions and sacred space. Their rulership is both Mercury and Solar and crossroads are very significant to everything connected to prayer and divination. As a spiritual practitioner, prayer should be interactive. Here is an example: You could pray for money and love, and at the same time, have health conditions. What is going to happen is that the divination will start emphasizing health as a priority since without health, you cannot really achieve love or money. In this way, energy is directed towards what is most relevant and then starts fanning out towards other subjects.

There are so many ideas connected to crossroads. Crossroads become central to certain spiritual thinking. It would actually take a large book to cover all the ideas connected with crossroads.

Traditional Conjuring

Old time New Orleans hoodoo practioners were essentially prayer warriors. They could move with the spirit and pray with the spirit, with an incredible intensity.
They would use focusing tools, candles, oils, and herbs. They were often called root doctors.
Their source of power was the spirit and many of the spirits they would work with.
By recognizing these workers and learning from their procedures, this keeps a powerful tradition alive. Today, people share the procedures and rituals but they have sometimes lost sight of the key element which makes conjuring work and that is to be praying in the spirit and moving with the power.

Altar

There are two types of shamanism. One is called "agricultural" and the other is called "nomadic". Recently, I have been getting numerous lessons in nomadic shamanism. Part of the nomadic process is that tools and ritual objects are portable. As I have been traveling, I have been using a small portable altar and to bless this, I prayed intensely on a seven day candle. One hour after lighting the candle, the top of the glass blew off, it made a substantial ball of fire and it set off our smoke detector. I assumed from this omen that the altar had been turned on and was now functioning full force! This altar is an altar I use to work with the goddess and all her mysteries. Part of those mysteries is Kundalini shakti. I often meditate with the forces for both insight and energy to begin the day's work, which is a number of email readings going out simultaneously. Ritual often produces omens and it is through omens we sense the deities.

Solar and Lunar Power

I often do prayer vigils to accompany my reading sessions. Central to my spiritual work is working with the solar power. The Sun is the healer, the sacred fire and the Lord of Light. The Sun always goes hand in hand with the Moon. They become the Lord and Lady of spiritual work. The Moon gives the vision and allows us to see the spirits, the invisible world and facilitates in doing psychic work. The Sun becomes the healer. Often in invoking the solar power, we use fire or a candle, along with prayer. This type of work is how spiritual work was done in the olden times. Nothing in divination is fixed. The mere reason something can be seen is to find a way to improve that situation. Rarely is something written in the stars, as an absolute.
Fire and Water go hand in hand. Water becomes the symbol of purification and relates to holy water. It is also water that is used as a visionary tool for seeing . Fire is a tool for healing.
